Victory Day Victory Day observed on 16 December annually commemorates the
surrender of Pakistan forces to allied Indian and Bangladeshi forces in the
Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. In Bangladesh this day is a national holiday
and is known as Bijoy Dibosh in Bangladesh.
